|Role||Consultant: Educational Needs Assessment|
A comprehensive data collection process was conducted through multiple modalities of perspective gathering. The stakeholders were interviewed and group facilitation provided several focus groups held to better understand the users’ current usage of educational learning spaces. Data collected was then analyzed with the district’s educational vision and compared to the latest trends in research. Wenaha Group provided an extensive overview of data triangulation, group facilitations for questions and clarification, and a thorough report of all findings.

When complete, the Tribal Education Center will provide a holistic approach to the CTUIR community’s educational vision and curriculum and development, allowing multiple departments to collaborate within a single building including an inclusive daycare, early learning, adult education, tribal language, the Nixyaawii community high school, and administration.

In partnership with the Tulalip Tribe of Washington’s Education Division, our team supported education leaders with large-scale stakeholder facilitation. We provided direct facilitation and support structures to engage youth, families, community members and elders, along with internal staff in the development of a PreK-12 Education Strategic Plan. Over 140 student voices inform the processes and educational outcomes. Additionally, we assist with internal group processing facilitation so that long-range goals and sustainability of initiatives are held as accountability measures. Our partnership alongside key stakeholders helps to inform internal staff of the needs and supports necessary for creating strong educational sovereignty pathways.

Our education division provides an extensive background in creating positive learning environments. This customized professional development training provided district transportation leaders and bus drivers an opportunity to discuss the successes and challenges associated with creating safe riding experiences. In partnership with district leaders, Wenaha Group provided a number of group facilitation techniques aimed at creating a safe space for adult learning and collectively creating strategies for real-time implementation to engage more effectively with all students.
