Our Story

Rob Quaempts and Dave Fishel formed their partnership on the belief that Wenaha Group should reflect their own diverse backgrounds and be guided by clear and consistent values. Our “Guiding Principles” shaped the foundation of our firm and remain our roadmap into the future.

Our success is the result of a talented and passionate team, who apply their diverse skills to solve complex problems for our clients, bringing clarity and order to tough issues.

We embrace a culture of collaboration where diverse opinions are welcomed and all critical stakeholders have a voice in the process.

Rob Quaempts and Dave Fishel first linked up in 2007govcenter to manage planning, design and construction of the $23 million Nixyaawii Governance Center on the Umatilla Indian Reservation.  Rob’s role as the Umatilla Tribe’s Public Works Director provided internal Tribal coordination and overall program oversight. As an outside Construction Management Consultant, Dave provided external project oversight and day-to-day management. Their effective team approach with designers and contractors resulted in a stunning new Tribal Government Center, completed under budget and a month ahead of schedule.

Recognizing their special connection and shared values, Rob and Dave formed Wenaha Group in December 2010. Since then, the company has steadily grown into a regional leader while holding fast to its Guiding Principles.

Guiding Principles – These principles guide our work, our lives, and our vision for the future:

The 13 Guiding Principles are the foundation of Wenaha Group. They are an integral part of our teams’ ethical ecosystem personally and professionally. Our Guiding Principles are inspired by the Native American tipi, an impressive structure of ingenuity. We infuse these principles on every project while honoring our connectedness to cultural values and contemporary architecture.
